Zhejiang Daily Front Page: Yongjia Pump & Valve Industry Reinvents Itself, “Pump” into AI Markets — PVPeW 2026

Facing limited growth in petrochemical markets, Yongjia’s pump‑valve industry pursues high‑end transformation. Local enterprises tap AI data‑center, aerospace and other emerging markets with upgraded products and AI‑driven manufacturing. Backed by government land‑supply support, the sector achieves steady growth.

Recently, at the digital factory of Zhejiang Langer Valve Technology Co., Ltd. in Yongjia, a batch of valves dedicated to liquid cooling control systems are being packed for shipment to the United States. With a single specification quantity of 12,000 units, these products will be used for the data center construction of a world-famous chip enterprise.

Venturing into the new computing power track, the person in charge of Langer Valve describes it as seizing opportunities amid crises. The company used to mainly manufacture marine valves. To adapt to the trend of miniaturization of marine equipment, it launched product iteration and R&D three years ago. While maintaining full performance, the product size was reduced to 30% of the original. Requirements for valves used in computing power centers happen to be similar to those for marine valves. Early this year, this R&D achievement was spotted by an overseas enterprise sourcing valves globally, and Langer Valve successfully secured the order.

Yongjia hosts China’s largest and most concentrated pump & valve manufacturing base, with more than 4,000 pump-valve and supporting enterprises. In 2025, the output value of its above-scale pump & valve industry exceeded 23 billion yuan. Petrochemical industry is the largest application scenario for pumps and valves. In recent years, accelerated substitution by new energy has weakened China’s refined oil consumption and slowed down investment in refining & chemical projects, continuously narrowing the growth space of the traditional petrochemical pump-valve market.

How to break through? Yongjia proposes to “reform and reinvent” its pump & valve industry, breaking development bottlenecks with new technologies, new markets and new growth frontiers.

Langer Valve seized the AI computing power boom by early R&D on compact, high-performance butterfly valves. By strict quality control over raw materials and castings, Zhisheng Valve obtained qualification to supply components for the aerospace sector, blazing a path toward high-end transformation. According to the management of Zhisheng Valve, its aerospace-related orders this year have reached 20 million yuan, accounting for roughly 40% of total output value.

Local authorities also guide enterprises to adopt AI to upgrade pump & valve manufacturing technologies. Supported by Wenzhou’s “AI Industry Interpreter” program, Bethel Valve’s AI intelligent quotation system integrates large language models and machine learning algorithms. It automates the whole workflow from demand analysis, model matching to precise quotation, lifting quotation response speed by over 80%. Targeting pain points such as high labor costs and occupational health risks in pump-valve spraying, the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Manufacturing at Wenzhou University has developed an AI autonomous spraying robotic arm now in the pilot test phase. It can automatically identify complex workpiece contours and generate optimal spraying paths, freeing the spraying process from reliance on veteran workers’ experience.

Such industrial transformation has helped Yongjia’s pump & valve products reduce over-reliance on the traditional petrochemical market and expand broadly into diversified sectors including new energy, offshore engineering equipment, aerospace, hydrogen energy & LNG storage and transportation, and low-altitude economy. In the first seven months of this year, the output value growth of Yongjia’s above-scale pump & valve industry hit 10.4%.

Yongjia will continue to optimize land supply so fast-growing enterprises face no shortage of space. “We have launched the ‘100 Enterprises, 1000 Mu’ land supply initiative, striving to provide 1,000 mu of industrial land annually for three consecutive years starting this year. Since the start of this year, 570 mu of industrial land has been supplied, exceeding the total amount of last year,” said Shao Zhan, Director of Yongjia County Bureau of Economy and Information Technology.
